Is today my lucky day?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s Friday morning the 13th of February. \u00a0I have never been much for superstition but perhaps it would be best if I avoid walking under ladders, spooking black cats or whatever the &#8220;fear du jour&#8221; of the day might be. \u00a0 Actually, I feel pretty lucky, the 13th or not, as I look out at the scene surrounding us in this lovely little harbor. \u00a0Yes, it&#8217;s plenty populated, with homes in every direction but the view of the city skyline in the distance is amazing. \u00a0This was the view that we enjoyed to the west as the sun set last evening. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/IMG_0169.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4119\" title=\"IMG_0169\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/IMG_0169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/IMG_0169.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/IMG_0169-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a>Yesterday we walked a long way, exploring the area, about 6 miles according to Brenda&#8217;s pedometer. By the time we got back to Pandora, I have to say that our &#8220;dogs&#8221; were barking. \u00a0Today, perhaps a few less steps.<\/p>\n<p>Our goal yesterday was to explore the South Beach historic district with it&#8217;s distinctive Art Deco architecture. \u00a0Even the local Gap store has to comply. \u00a0You won&#8217;t see another store from this chain housed in this style elsewhere.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-005.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4120\" title=\"2-13-15a 005\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-005.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-005.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-005-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a>It&#8217;s pretty clear that if you want to live in South Beach, you have to do whatever you need to do to fit in. \u00a0And, that probably means not wearing much clothing. \u00a0Here, if you want to look the part, you might want to consider a string thong bikini and stiletto high heals. \u00a0For the guys, body building or &#8220;surfing&#8221; around on a long skate board is a must. \u00a0We enjoyed watching some of the local color on the beach, that&#8217;s for sure. \u00a0Love those well formed &#8220;pecks&#8221;. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-014.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4121\" title=\"2-13-15a 014\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-014.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-014.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-014-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a>It was pretty easy to identify the locals from the, well, folks like us. \u00a0 However, I think we look pretty good for a couple of &#8220;older&#8221; folks taking time to soak in the scene. \u00a0Right?<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-010.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4122\" title=\"2-13-15a 010\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-010.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-010.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-010-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a>The view from our perch was perfect for surveying the local scene. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-006.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4127\" title=\"2-13-15a 006\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-006.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-006.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-006-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a>And speaking of locals, how about a Lemur from Madascar? \u00a0Now, that&#8217;s not something you see every day. \u00a0 Not to worry, he wears a diaper. \u00a0No Lemur Poo on you. \u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-015.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4123\" title=\"2-13-15a 015\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-015.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"933\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-015.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/2-13-15a-015-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a>And, for a modest &#8220;donation&#8221; you can even get up close and personal.
