It\u2019s Sunday afternoon here in Ft Lauderdale and we are enjoying a really spectacular day.\u00a0\u00a0 The temperature is about perfect, in the high 70s and the sun is out in force.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I expect that we will head out to make the run to Miami on Tuesday morning as the wind is forecast to be from a favorable direction to sail and not too strong.\u00a0 That will be a nice change of pace as it seems that we have been experiencing front after front with strong winds for the last few weeks as we have made out way south.<\/p>\n

A few hours ago I heard from our friends Cathy and Port who, interestingly enough, just got back from a three week trip to India.\u00a0\u00a0 It seems that India is a bit different than Fairfield County Ct, where they live. Ya think?<\/p>\n

Cathy and Port have a house in the Keys near Marathon and told us that they will be down in late February.\u00a0 Brenda and I visited them a number of years ago, in what seems like a different lifetime, prior to my retiring.<\/p>\n

Port designed the place and it\u2019s really lovely with a South Seas island look. I wrote this post<\/a>\u00a0the first time we visited. \u00a0What a spot. \u00a0\"\"<\/a>You just can’t beat the sunsets. \u00a0\"\"<\/a>It will be great to see them \u201cin situ\u201d again.\u00a0 Cathy and Brenda share a love of gardening but I think it\u2019s safe to say that Cathy has more stamina than me and Brenda put together as her gardens at their CT home are very extensive.<\/p>\n

Earlier I headed ashore for a walk and to enjoy the weather on this lazy Sunday.\u00a0 Well, it seems that some of the other\u00a0 \u201clocals\u201d had the same idea.\u00a0 Along the way I saw some large iguanas \u201ccatching some rays\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It might look like this guy is \u201cinside, looking out\u201d but he was just staking out his turf through a fence on the side of the canal. \u00a0“Don’t even THINK of coming near my fence!”\"\"<\/a>Above him, in a tree overlooking the water was one of the dominant males looking like he owned the place and trying to look his \u201clizard best\u201d. \u00a0“I see you. \u00a0You in that rubber boat, yeah you!”\"\"<\/a><\/span>I also came upon a group of stand-up-paddle-boarders (SUPs) making the most of the beautiful weather. How about yoga afloat?\u00a0 In their own way they too are staking out their claim. \u00a0“You think you are good at yoga? \u00a0Well, watch this. \u00a0I can strike a pose on a tippy board, so there!!!”\"\"<\/a><\/span>One way or the other, it seems that everyone here is working hard to appear like they aren\u2019t working at all.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I guess that about sums it up here in south Florida.\u00a0 \u201cDon\u2019t I just look marvelous?\u00a0 Enough about me, let\u2019s talk about what YOU think of me.\u201d<\/p>\n

For now, I\u2019d better focus on looking like I belong here too. \u00a0 Where\u2019s that damn yoga mat? \u00a0It must be there somewhere.\u00a0\u00a0 No, forget about that.\u00a0 I think it would be better for me to just climb a tree and survey the landscape.\u00a0 I guess \u201clizard\u201d is more my speed and I do want to look like I belong.\u00a0 \u00a0\u201cHey you, you scaly lizard\u2026 Move aside, that’s my spot.\u201d \u00a0No kidding, I know I’m all that and more. \u00a0Well, at least more than a lizard.<\/p>\n
