Say yes, we did!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday we dropped the mooring in Man-O-War and headed a short 5 miles to \u00a0Great Guana Cay. \u00a0Yes, the cays (pronounced keys) as islands are known here, are very close to each other here in the Abacos. \u00a0As an aside, in Florida the keys are pronounced keys. \u00a0 More logical, to my way of thinking.<\/p>\n<p>The weather was uncharacteristically calm and the seas so flat that you could count the starfish as the bottom passed 20&#8242; under Pandora. \u00a0We also saw a few &#8220;items&#8221; that must have fallen overboard from passing vessels. \u00a0How about a lawn mower, or two? \u00a0So much for pristine waterways here in paradise. \u00a0I can only imagine what the sea would cough up if we could see the bottom in most harbors up north.<\/p>\n<p>There was a front approaching and within a few hours the calm conditions were no more and the wind had piped up to 20kts. \u00a0These thunderheads marked the approaching front. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-001.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1939\" title=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-001.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"666\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-001.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-001-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a>The view ahead of Pandora was amazing. \u00a0I stood on the bow watching the bottom flow under us for an hour. \u00a0You could easily spot sea biscuits and sand dollars too along with star fish. \u00a0The star fish were easy to spot as some were about 18&#8243; across.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-005.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1940\" title=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-005.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a>If two photos of clouds is good than a third is better. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-007.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1941\" title=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-007.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"666\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a>We were happy to be on the hook when the front came though later that day.<\/p>\n<p>Great Guana Cay is known for Nippers, a beach bar that is supposed to be one of the best in the Bahamas. \u00a0For us, we weren&#8217;t that impressed as it seemed a bit ratty. \u00a0Having said that, perhaps it was the fact that it was blowing a gale, sort of, and there were a few guys at the bar that were acting more like high school football players on a bender than the adults that they probably played in &#8220;real life&#8221;. \u00a0 There&#8217;s something pathetic about a 50 something guy with a doo rag on his head and a beer in his hand. \u00a0Oh well&#8230; \u00a0I am happy to say that I don&#8217;t have a doo rag. \u00a0 For that matter, I am not even sure how to spell it. \u00a0In spite of all that, the view was spectacular as the bar overlooks the ocean and the third barrier reef in the world. \u00a0A<span style=\"color: #444444; font-size: 14px;\">las, we toughed it out and enjoyed the view.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Yesterday afternoon the wind had cut down enough for a walk on the beach. \u00a0It&#8217;s an impressive one and in spite of the reefs that break the surf, the waves were still rolling in and crashing like they meant it. \u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-015.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1937\" title=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-015.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-015.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-015-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #444444; font-size: 14px;\">This spot was pretty amazing as the waves crashed over and into the air with ferocity. \u00a0In spite of all the wave action the water was very clear. \u00a0The sand, because of the constant pounding is very soft and fine.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-032.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1938\" title=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a>After our walk on the beach we decided to try the &#8220;other&#8221; bar, Grabbers. \u00a0It was perched on the leeward side of the island, with a lot less wind. \u00a0 That&#8217;s good. \u00a0We liked it very much. \u00a0They even have a pool. \u00a0Pretty nice spot. \u00a0Great view. \u00a0They call this sunset beach. \u00a0That&#8217;s because you can see the sunset from the bar, but you probably already figured that one out. \u00a0The view over the pool was very nice. \u00a0We recommend this spot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-038.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1933\" title=\"OLYMPUS DIGITAL sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #444444; font-size: 14px;\">How about a commercial for the place? \u00a0Yes, that&#8217;s me trying to look cool. \u00a0Alas, no hope. \u00a0I am just not cool material. \u00a0No comments about the hat&#8230; \u00a0I am at peace with my &#8220;un-cooleness&#8221;, mostly and totally after a few beers. \u00a0 At least I don&#8217;t have a doo rag.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/4-25-13a-046.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full
