{"id":11892,"date":"2021-08-19T16:01:34","date_gmt":"2021-08-19T21:01:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/?p=11892"},"modified":"2021-08-19T16:01:34","modified_gmt":"2021-08-19T21:01:34","slug":"the-joy-of-conquering-joy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/?p=11892","title":{"rendered":"The joy of conquering Joy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s a beautiful day here in Castine where we moved yesterday after a few days in Belfast.\u00a0 The sunrise was spectacular.\u00a0 However, you know what the say about &#8220;red sky in the morning&#8221;.\u00a0 \u00a0Rain this afternoon.\u00a0 <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11900\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/IMG_0803.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"466\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/IMG_0803.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.sailpandora.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/IMG_0803-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/>Castine is a wonderful place but that will have to wait on that point as I have scintillating news in the life of the giant rubber ducky Joy.<\/p>\n<p>On our last night in Belfast I was still wondering if I was about to be arrested for illegal transport of the giant rubber duckie\u00a0 when I moved her from another area of the harbor.\u00a0 All day long we watched a parade of boats, large and small, passing by Joy to pay her tribute.<\/p>\n<p>Late in the afternoon, three boys showed up in their dink, looking very determined to do something as they strung a rope over her back.\u00a0 \u00a0I could not imagine what they had in mind and we took our dink over to inqure about what they were planning. &#8220;we want to climb up on her back&#8221;, they said.<\/p>\n<p>Ok, AWESOME, go for it!\u00a0 I just HAD to record this and stood by, but I will admit, I was wondering if such a feat was even possible.\u00a0 Actually, I was thinking NO WAY!<\/p>\n<p>After perhaps a half hour of prep, here they are, getting ready to scale to the summit.\u00a0 Note the drone, upper right, capturing the moment.\u00a0 \u00a0I have no idea who was the &#8220;driver&#8221;
